To convert a short mini van or car using a bed to a you would need to locate an appropriate bed from a vehicle. Ideally, this should be the same make, model, year and color.

You then take several very careful measurements, and using either a torch you cut and section the frame, at an appropriate straight section. You do not section a frame, where it curves or bends and you leave the point which suspends the axle intact.
With the two halves of the chassis supported, level, lined up and stable on each end. If your lengthening project goes well, this should be at least as strong as the surrounding frame sections.
Now you paint the altered section, lengthen the driveline, lengthen the brake lines and exhaust system, fuel lines and electrical harness. Once finished, you bolt your new long bed on good sleep.
